Consider this my pre-emptive strike against those who would put all the blame for the earmarks on the Democrats. 40% of the earmarks come from Republicans. Shame on both parties.
Here’s a breakdown of the top 20 earmarking senators and the value of their solo earmarks:

While I agree that moving in haste is often unwise, losing jobs at the rate of 500,000 per month is not sustainable…..something had to be done.
