Emanuel’s declaration Sunday that the Obama administration will not pursue prosecution of Bush officials for their torture policy elicited a fire storm of criticism from the left. At the same time I imagine it brought deep sighs of relief from former CIA director Hayden and former Homeland Security Secretary Chertoff.
