Either the Catholic church needs to cut the cancer out or it needs to close it’s doors. The only way to truly arrest this problem is for members of the church to demand accountability. Personally, I would have walked away from the church a long time ago.

“We thought that we could send someone to say 10 Hail Mary’s and his problem would be over.” Said a very dear to me priest friend.
He acknowledged that the problem was deeper, that hiding it behind the confessional and 10 Hail Mary’s would not cut it, but that only recently the church began to understand that. I believe the problem of denying anything sexual started with St. Augustine and the church’s turn towards the teachings of St. Augustine rather than the teachings of Jesus himself … anyhow, it is all complicated. The first step the church needs to take is to accept the fact that as human beings we are all sexual beings, including the pope and all of his prelates.

I’m gonna say it doesn’t matter if the POPE himself had anything to do with this particula incident at his brothe’s choir place or not. The Pope, ( this one and the last) are already guilty in my opinion of FAILURE to PROTECT on a gross scale. It is impossible to believe that so many ‘parishes’? around the world had pedophile priests and the Pope did not know. HE THE POPE should have said years ago to every person on the planet of any religion, “You report to the VATICAN any indecency even SUSPECTED by any priest who calls himself a catholic and we WILL immediately strip them of their ‘credentials’? ( im using words i’m not sure are right here, so forgive me) and then hand them over to the local law enforcement for whatever area th crime took place in and assist them FULLY in investigating and prosecuting if necessary. I’m sorry to all God loving Catholics who read this, but it’s sickening. Make your church accouuntable or LEAVE that church and start your own !
