Ohio McDonald’s under fire after note sent to employees saying vote GOP or forget about a raise

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Seriously, are you kidding me?

What in the world did this man think he was doing? Who the hell does he think he is? I’m so glad the employee forwarded the flier to an attorney and someone contacted the press.

The employer apologized saying he didn’t mean to offend anyone.  How stupid is he that he thought nobody would be offended?  This is just one more example of bullying.

Call it McPressure

The owner of several McDonald’s in northeastern Ohio is facing heat after he distributed Republican handouts to his employees and threatened that their pay and benefits would suffer if the GOP doesn’t win in the midterm elections.

The handbills were handed to Canton workers alongside their paychecks. An insert suggested they vote for three Republican candidates.

“If the right people are elected we will be able to continue with raises and benefits at or above our present levels,” the Plain Dealer reported the note saying. “If others are elected we will not.”

An angry worker forwarded the flier to an attorney.

The owner, Paul Siegfried, apologized on Friday and said employees should vote for whomever they want.

“Distributing this communication was an error of judgment on my part,” Siegfried said in a written statement. “Please know it was never my intention to offend anyone. For those that I have offended, I sincerely apologize.”

Allen Schulman, a lawyer representing one of the employees, said he has contacted the city’s law director, citing state and federal laws against corporate advocacy in elections.

The employer apologized. I wonder for how much longer the employee will be able to hold his/her job. The guy may not directly fire the employee but he might make the employee’s life a living hell. Oh, the games people play.

In Las Vegas the casino owners?? were telling their employees to vote for Reid. I don’t think they threatened to fire them but it’s implied it was assertive. Apparently it worked.

    tit for tat
