Being the skeptic that I am, I have to wonder about the timing of the terror threats. It seems very reminiscent of other terror threats that happened just before key elections.
The White House says President Barack Obama was notified about a potential terrorist threat after suspicious packages were discovered aboard two airplanes bound for the U.S.
No explosives have been found. A U.S. official says authorities are investigating whether the packages may be a dry run for a plot to send bombs through the mail.
A suspicious package containing a toner cartridge with wires and powder was found during routine screening of cargo in the United Kingdom, prompting authorities to scour three planes and a truck in the United States on Friday.
Searches were conducted in Philadelphia, Newark, N.J., and New York City. All the packages believed to be suspicious came from Yemen and were being sent via UPS.
I thin this is real. When this was first reported I read an interview with a woman who was in the British airport and saw all the security around a plane across the field. No one would tell her what was going on though.

I wonder how many times things like this happen that we hear little about it?
I am a skeptic too. L is a skeptic too. All the two of us can think about, How convenient; the only thing is we are not sure who this latest terror threat so close to the election and the handling of it happens to benefit. Obama and hsi government who can claim they put a stop to it? The teapartiers who can say something, like, see, you see how real the word terror and all its components are?
Conveniently timed.
I hate being one of those conspiracy theorists, but….(a) the timing is so convenient and (b) they won’t say how they determined those specific packages contained bombs. I really do not want to think this is contrived for political expediency.

I know what you mean. I hate being suspicious and skeptical but when something seems too convenient it makes me wonder.

I have been thinking ALL DAY , HMMMMMMM. Also, it reminded
me that the last 2 weeks or so there were a few other little
things. I cant’ remember exactly, gunman at the capitol or
something. This is the biggest obviously of these suspicious
things , but it’s not coincidence. Timing is everything. But I
can’t figure out what it means. When Bush was inj office and
this happened people thought it was repu=blicans trying to hold
on to power. But now it may be that people don’t want to ‘change leadership’ if they feel threatened? I dont’ know. Weird.

I’m not quite sure who this would benefit but I really don’t trust anything that seems too convenient. Maybe my brain is just fried. LOL
Can I ask all of you for some pity? There’s nothing that makes me feel as stupid as learning a new job. Gheesh, my brain is fried! A simple “poor Sage” would make me feel so much better.

@AliSilver, What was convienient about the underwear bomber? He came from the same area and his explosives were PETN too.
The goings on in Britian were visible to other flyers.
The fact it was a UPS package….think about all those UPS trucks delivering all over.
I think we have started to take for granted what is in place to stop terrorism.
My guess that public knowledge about events like these are for a reason, but I doubt it is political. Not when it involves 2 other countries and one is Saudi Arabia.

I know that the event is most likely real, I just wonder if the noise being made over it isn’t politically motivated. I think there are probably events that happen frequently that we never hear about.
