Black Friday Deal on Blu-ray Player
Filed in Entertainment on Nov.27, 2009
If you are looking for an entry level Blue-ray Player, have I found a deal!
Consumer Reports ranks the Sony BDP-S360 Blu-ray Disc Player third only to the Oppo BDP-83 which retails for approximately $500 and the Panasonic DMP-BD80.
The Oppo and the Panasonic received ratings of 93 from Consumer Reports and the Sony BDP-S360 Blu-ray 92 points. The difference in rating being in the user friendliness of the remote control for the Sony.
You can find the specs on the Sony HERE.
Here’s the great deal part. Dell has the Sony on sale TODAY with free shipping for $109.99. You can order HERE.
The next cheapest price I found was at Best Buy for $129.99.

Sage, you are a technology wizzard! Hope your hubby is feeling better today. Mine went to WalMart yesterday morning at 5AM, saw the lines in the counter for technology products (one of which he wanted, [figured that by the time he got to the clerk, they may be fresh out of the item he wanted]), saw the lines at the check-out counters too .. he, being the most lacking in patience man that I know on this earth, took a bow, turned around, and came back to a day filled with tummy aches.
O:-)

Hi, Sky. I don’t blame your husband for turning around and leaving. I don’t do Black Friday shopping unless it’s on the Internet. I have no patience for it.

@Sage, Hi Sage … You and my husband seem to have the right idea about Black Friday. This, however, being the First Black Friday that either one of us got up for, it was exhilarating to me to see the crowds, though I admit that by the time I may have stood in line for a while, chasing whatever it was I wanted … I too may have felt like walking out without it. O:-) We had also stopped at SEARS (their doors opened at 4 AM) where there were no lines to get in, no lines at the check out counters …. just simply, no lines… we were probably expecting that at Walmart and were surprised to find out how different it was … then we went to Target but by that time it was 6AM (they opened their doors at 5AM, so by the time we got there, there was no one waiting in line to get in, nor were there lines at the checkout counters… anyhow, I think this will have been our only and one experience in shopping on Black Friday … (to get to SEARS by 4AM we had to get up by 3 AM …)I think that in midst of my near reclusive life, going out for Black Friday shopping provided me, in my mind, with an adventure similar to a Peter Pan story, or even a Robinson Crusoe One … WOW! My imagination can and does get away with me sometimes.

I thought about going out just for the experience but I decided that I probably wouldn’t enjoy the experience. I’m glad you had fun!

@Red Faction, Upconvent? I don’t know that word . Do you mean it will play DVDs you already have, so you can transition without losing your current dvd library ? tks

@Red Faction, Ali, Sage is correct…you don’t have to worry about your existing DVD library, this Blu-Ray will play them. You are seeing also during the Black Friday sales, lots of new titles out on Blu-Ray that are at low prices I haven’t seen before.
