Video: Health Care PASSES in the House
Filed in Politics on Nov.08, 2009
I’m terribly afraid the bill has been so watered down that it really means very little.
The House floor erupted in one of the loudest cheers the chamber has heard in years when Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), an hour before midnight, cast the 218th and deciding vote on landmark health care reform.
There were still six minutes and fifty-two seconds on the clock and the chair made a move to gavel the vote closed.
Democrats waived their opposition, keeping the vote open.
[snip]
As the clock hit ten seconds, Democrats counted down the time, finishing with an even louder cheer as Pelosi read out the tally: 220-215.

I think I can’t even look at the selling of Americans to the insurance companies by a victory of greed over true caring for the health and well being of the American people. Should my Senator and Representative in the House (neither one of whom raised their voice or their vote for the American people) should run again for their elected offices they will find that neither one will have my vote of confidence to return to their elected seats–not that it matters to them. It matters to me, though.. I am heartbroken.

Hoping the Senate version strengthens it.

@Wizcon, yeah, good luck on that one. The Senators seem to be even more wedded to the insurance and allied corporations.
I am so discouraged.
