President Obama Addresses School Children

After much furor from the far right wing faction of the Republican Party, President Obama delivered a back to school speech today to thousands of American school children. Ironically, the speech probably got much more attention than it would have without the controversy created claiming President Obama intended to indoctrinate school children with his socialist agenda.

The president’s speech can probably best be described as a pep rally in which children were encouraged to study hard, listen to their teachers and to take seriously their responsibility to get a good education.

I wonder if there will be an apology issued by any of those who accused the president of all kinds of nefarious motives for giving this speech. My guess would be no and that many of the critics will continue their struggle to find something evil about the speech.

Yeah, ever tell a kid they can’t watch something on tv? Makes them really curious.
