I live with lots of "time-outs" for replenishment these days ... O:-) Watching movies like the life of Toulec Lautrec (done in the 1050s with Jose Ferrer) and Farrah Fawcett's Silk Hope are refreshing and replenishing in addition to ... watching my new puppy and running ragged onSundays to keep up with my two year old grandson.

I call replenishing moment "time out's". What ever you need to do to break the patteren of what you are supposed to be doing and attend to what you need or want. In other words leave the front stage and go to the back stage. There is no regulation of performance in the back stage.

I love this definition of nanny-state:
•A state whose government institutions are authoritative and over-paternalistic, interfering with and controlling people's lives"

Yes. The oxygen of the mountains; the sight of animals roaming through, freely and gently (as nature intended for them to do) on the vastnes of the landscape are replenishing images. These days so much is at such a degree of disconnect with nature that we place ourselves into a dangerous ravene of self-destruction. Rather than preserve. We destroy.

And, as for "paternlistic, interfering with and controlling people's lives", Boy! Doesn't that fit Jeb Bush's actions on the Terri Schiavo case ... and as far as "paternelistic" goes ... these Bushes (and many others) turn it into zealous christianity which really is a far cry from the preachings of Jesus Christ, their preferred, "philosopher."

I cannot run away to the mountains, or take refuge in them. The shoreline is closeby, but I have not gone to its side in quite a moon. Perhaps I will this morning.

In the meantime, two blessings replenish me these days, although each:physically exhausting for me. 1) watching my new puppy and his interaction with this world. 2) Spending Sundays with my two year old grandson, who yesterday, became enraptured with Della Reese's voice when I played "The Classic Della Reese CD".

Well, I get an instant headache from coming into contact with self-righteous, obnoxious nanny state jerks but for some reason I can't get them outlawed.

I get headaches from lots of things, including chemicals that are used to clean but that doesn't mean I think the whole world should change to prevent my headaches.
