Video: Wiley Drake Prays For Obama’s Death

Let me get this straight.  This guy, this supposed pastor is saying that God wants Barack Obama dead?  He’s just agreeing with God?  What a self-righteous, deluded, wacked out, jackass.

This is the kind of nutjob you get when one spends all one’s time talking and thinking about the vengeance of the God of the Old Testament instead of grasping the message of love and grace in the New Testament.  He’s devoid of any understanding of the message of the gospel and knows about as much as about God as a piss ant does.

Frankly, he’s inciting the other nut jobs in this country such as Scott Roeder and I hope he keeps talking until he crosses the line and ends up in jail.

Wiley Drake Prays For Obama’s Death

By Kyle | June 4, 2009 – 4:39pm

The other day I noted that Wiley Drake, Alan Keyes’ vice-presidential running mate, had declared that George Tiller’s murder had been the answer to his “imprecatory” prayers.

Now Drake has proclaimed that he is likewise issuing such prayers against President Obama in hopes that he also dies:

A former Southern Baptist Convention officer who on June 2 called the death of abortion provider George Tiller an answer to prayer said later in the day he is also praying “imprecatory prayer” against President Obama.

Wiley Drake, pastor of First Southern Baptist Church in Buena Park, Calif., and former running mate of American Independent Party presidential candidate Alan Keyes, said June 2 on Fox News Radio he didn’t understand why people were upset with his comments quoted by Associated Baptist Press from a webcast of his daily radio talk show.

“Imprecatory prayer is agreeing with God, and if people don’t like that, they need to talk to God,” Drake told syndicated talk-show host Alan Colmes. “God said it, I didn’t. I was just agreeing with God.”

Asked if there are others for whom Drake is praying “imprecatory prayer,” Drake hesitated before answering that there are several. “The usurper that is in the White House is one, B. Hussein Obama,” he said.

Later in the interview, Colmes returned to Drake’s answer to make sure he heard him right.

“Are you praying for his death?” Colmes asked.

“Yes,” Drake replied.

“So you’re praying for the death of the president of the United States?”

Colmes asked Drake if he was concerned that by saying that he might be placed on a Secret Service or FBI watch list, and if he believed it appropriate to talk or pray that way.

“I think it’s appropriate to pray the Word of God,” Drake said. “I’m not saying anything. What I am doing is repeating what God is saying, and if that puts me on somebody’s list, then I’ll just have to be on their list.”

“You would like for the president of the United States to die?” Colmes asked once more.

“If he does not turn to God and does not turn his life around, I am asking God to enforce imprecatory prayers that are throughout the Scripture that would cause him death, that’s correct.”

I’ve read the Bible through and through but I sure must have missed this one! There is one passage in the NT where Paul instructs people to turn a man over to satan for the destruction of his body to save his soul but I don’t know if this is a connect to his “imprecatory” prayer or not. As an instant take on this, I would say, this guy needs to give up pastoring and look in the mirror before he goes on mainline television and spouts such nonsense. Gods attitude towards Obama is his salvation. How He(God)intends to deal with that no one knows except Him. We, as Christians, are to pray for Obama’s salvation, not his death. That’s just nuts!

I missed that part as well.

Also,,,,, I never heard the name WILEY DRAKE in my life until this thread………. So who cares what he says :)

    He’s NOBODY!

Unfortunately nut cases like Scott Roeder listen to people like this.

I’ve always been of the opinion that you pray for GODs will to be done and then the STRENGTH in yourself to manage what GOD does. So if you disagree with something He’s done, well WHO CARES. You just gotta DEAL with the hand you’re dealt.

Isn’t Drake’s prayer akin to praying you win the lottery or praying you wake up skinny and pimple free, etc.
I mean we are not really supposed to pray for THINGS. This is just what Drake wants and he’s pinning his hope on Divine Intervention. What a lump!

Me personally,,, pretty disappointed in the Obama victory in Nov.. I am not a fan ! But as a Christian, I think this is supposed to happen and God’s got a plan and we are to sit back and watch it unfold and KNOW that it’s going exactly as HE chose for it to go… NOT ME.. I think good things could come out of this and I’m praying good things come out of it.

If I was deciding how things would go,,, well GOD KNOWS we’d be in a world of trouble then,,,,,, LOL :P
We’d have no government and my dog would be in charge!

  8. AliSilver says:

And before I get harped on for not being an Obama fan, may I state for the record, I am equally NOT a MCCAIN fan,,,,,,so don’t even go there :P

  9. pro-lifers that pray for the death of another… i will never understand.
