Today I started experiencing a crash of Firefox whenever I tried to add an image to a WordPress post. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox to no avail. I finally did a Google search of “Firefox crashing when inserting image into WordPress” and found the answer to the problem. The problem is within Google Gears (which explains why I wasn’t having the problem with my laptop as Google Gears is not installed on it.)
If you uninstall Googe Gears (or disable it in the Firefox addons) the problem will go away. I’m not sure what caused this to happen all of a sudden but I was glad to find the answer and wanted to share it here.
Thanks. I’ve have the same problem. I will try disabling Gears and see it goes.

You’re welcome. Thanks for letting me know it worked for you!
It worked. I’m back up and running. I wonder what caused Gears to flake out suddenly.

Just started having the same issue a few minutes ago. Googled and found you…going to disable Gears now. Hope that fixes it! Thanks for the post.

Disabled Gears in Add-ons, that did the trick. How strange! Thanks again…
