Once again Adam Lambert steals the show with his rendition of Born to be Wild. He took a great song and made it greater, a fun song and made it more fun and a wild song and made it wilder.
You can enjoy the video of his performance below.
If you have another favorite you probably should stop reading now because you’ll just get mad. The other performances included:
- Allison Iraheta – “Don’t Want to Miss a Thing – Aerosmith – Armageddon
- Anoop Desai – “Everything I Do” by Bryan Adams – Robin Hood
- Matt Giraud – “Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman” by Bryan Adams – Don Juan
- Danny Gokey – “Endless Love” by Diana Ross – Endless Love
- Kris Allen – “Falling Slowly” Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova – Once
- Lil Rounds – “The Rose” by Bette Midler – The Rose
Allison was the second best of the night in my opinion. She took a rather dull song and made something out of it with the sheer power of her voice. Anoop took a slow song and made it even slower…it rather reminded me of the draggy hymn singing in the Presbyterian church where I grew up. Once again Danny sang a tribute to his wife and while on an emotional level I find that nice I also end up feeling a bit manipulated by it. Matt did an ok job. I thought his song was pitchy in places and just rather uninspired. Kris….what the hell was that? And Lil, Simon didn’t get a chance to say it so I will……….girlfriend that was a mess. The arrangement was bizarre, the vocal was pitchy and it came off as just plain weird.
The plumber thinks I’m nuts taking off from an investigation of a leak like that. Heard it come on and I was gone! LOL

Hi Jean. Thanks for stopping in.
I haven’t seen anyone with the charisma and state presence that Adam has in a long time. Somebody said earlier he’s like a young Elvis and there is some truth in that I think.

He’s done a lot of stage. “Wicked” was one. “Joseph” with Val kilmer. Also on you tube there are some videos of him singing in a caberet. He does Dust in the wind on one.
One really bad one of him singing the national anthem. He can only go so high apparently.

Pingback: Adam Lambert Born To Be Wild
I’m 54, and I have never seen anything like Adam in my life, except for Elvis. I have replayed his performance at least 20 times. Awesome
Very nice Adam is great. Allison and Adam rock
It is only Wednesday morning and I have already watched this video over 30 times. I have even spun my daughters into the “ADAM WEB” I have weaved…..lol.. Personally, I think he is the best thing that has ever happened to music! Think about it – this is just the beginning! I can’t wait to see and hear all that he accomplishes in the future! I just pray that he does not get dragged into the drug scene. What an awful waste of talent that would be. I hate to even think about it. Okay, time for me to watch his video again : )
Adam Lambert is an awesome performer! He’s got it all–the voice, good range and articulation, drama, charisma, coordinated body movement, and an exciting performances. Everything just works! He’s so great to watch; and I love to see the range of performances–”Born to Be Wild” is pretty different than “It’s a Mad World.” I loved them both! (and I’m 68 and grew up on Elvis). I can’t wait to see what he will do next! I hope he will have a fantastic career!
Adam really transcends generations which to me is a key indicator of a superstar.

Yes he does and that’s part of his genius.
Amazing talent! Adam has captured people from all walks of life, he performs a spellbounding show each time. It’s true that Idol has never been this interesting. He is truly a huge talent wrapped as Adam. Hypnotizing and magnifying! Can’t get enough of him. Wish him all the best.
he is so hott!!!! he has an amazing talent…wow he is hott
he is daa Best IDOL THERE!!!!
I really felt that there was a void after Freddie Mercury died, but Adam Lambert even overgoes Freddie and thats’ saying something. I’m so excited to watch Idol 09 now, because Adam is the best of the best, and better than any other Idol winner, Axel Rose or Freedie Mercury!!
Name one other Idol in the history of the show that has taken that much advantage of the stage and made you feel like you were in a concert instead of the American Idol taping. You can’t. He’s amazing, multi-talented, has the gift of a one-of-a-kind voice and he’s going to win.
I have said from the beginning Adam lambert was the one to beat. Now having seen ‘Born to be Wild’ he is definately the winner. So come on USA bring him home LOL. He seems such a nice guy too!! I stay in South Africa so as yet that show has not been seen. Was so glad I took a peep into this site. Some Freddie mercury would be a real treat.
