Video: Adam Lambert sings Mad World and gets standing ovation from Simon
Filed in Entertainment, video on Apr.07, 2009
Please excuse me while I indulge my guilty pleasure of watching American Idol and Adam Lambert. Personally I think American Idol has become the Adam and Allison show. Allison Iraheta has a poise and maturity way beyond her tender 16 years and I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if it the final two come down to Adam and Allison.

Just for fun:

The concert with Adam singing in Hebrew was, I believe, a concert in honor of Itzhak Rabin. He sang with two other Israeli singers. He was amazing!

You ever go on you tube and look him up? There are some older ones on there where he looks like he’s singing in a synagogue. It explains his style.

I’ve seen some of his older ones but not that one. Do you have a link?

I think he will win as well but even if he doesn’t I bet he will have a recording contract.
I loved his performance tonight as well but Ring of Fire is still my favorite.
Do you happen to know what the category is for next week?

We watched the first 3 seasons of AI diligently. Since then,,,,, not so much. In fact NEVER. BUT my favorite american idol….. KELLY … woohooo. So in case you forgot how she won, check out this clip…. after I go find it. It is the night my husband and I looked at each other after the performance, and said OMG she’s gotta win! And it is one of the more obscure performances, but it’s a good one to hear her VOICE and her Style in.

I am a 61 year old Grandma and Adam Lambert takes me back to the feelings I used to get watching a young Elvis. Adam is a star!! Can’t wait to buy his CD. His voice is prisine!

Let’s face it, there has never been a singer with the gorgeous vocal range and styles of Adam Lambert’s. His talent is unbelievably extraordinary and, to top it all off, he seems like a genuinely good guy – always complimenting and thanking the band and always quick to laugh. It was really smart of him to get this national exposure; it doesn’t matter anymore if he wins or not (but something will definitely be wrong if he doesn’t)because he has a wild career ahead of him. I completely identified with Paula tonight watching him sing, “If I Can’t Have You” because I’m old enough to be his mother, too, and the look on her face was exactly how I was feeling! I’ve told everybody that I’m in love with a 27-year-old gay guy!

I couldn’t agree more. He will be a HUGE star in my opinion.

Thanks for the links to hear more Adam. I’m too old to get chills from a guy singing, but Adam did it again last night. I’m so glad you all share this guilty pleasure. Each year I swear off AI, but by the time it’s narrowed down to 10 or so, I can’t stay away. But I haven’t felt that Star or ‘IT’ quality from any of them since Carrie Underwood.

You’re welcome. I got a little chill last night but I think it was just the aftermath of a hot flash.

Adam COULD sing the telephone book & make it sound wonderful. His ability was clearly demonstrated with Mad World, Sensation, AND Come to Me, Bend to Me from Brigadoon. I WOULD love to see what he looks like without the Gothic: his own color hair, a more traditional haircut, and without black nails & earrings. But he has my vote no matter what. I’m 72 years old & don’t give a hoot whether he’s gay or not. He’s sensational.

I love Adam, I love him even more when I found out he was born on my same day and same year. January 29th 1982. I am a man and have never had any homosexual desire until now. Honestly as weird as that seems especially for me. But I for once find another man sexually appealing only him though, only him.

i think he could do much more better it was to high piched!

I’ve been thinking about what he should do for Disco week. I think he should do his own disco version of Knights in White Satin. Giorgio Moroder did a disco version that I think Adam could greatly improve.
