North Koreans Launch Rocket Over the Pacific
I really don’t even know what to say about this that isn’t obvious, like how stupid this move was.
SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea defied the United States, China and a series of United Nations resolutions by launching a rocket on Sunday that the country said was designed to propel a satellite into space, but that much of the world viewed as an effort to prove it is edging toward the capability to shoot a nuclear warhead on a longer-range missile.
The launching took place at 11:30 a.m. local time, said an official at the Foreign Ministry of South Korea who spoke on condition of anonymity until the government makes a formal announcement.
The motivation for the test appeared as much political as technological: After acquiring the fuel for six or more nuclear weapons during the Bush administration, and negotiating a halt of its main nuclear reactor in return for aid, North Korea’s recent statements appear to be a bid for attention from the Obama administration.
Over the years the North has sometimes conducted tests as a gambit to extract concessions for more aid and fuel and to demonstrate its nuclear capabilities.

He is a little freak,, that Kim Jong Il sp*. In a way, he kinda cracks me up. Although this is not funny, this move, but he has a history of just doing such stupid stuff, it’s funny. Here’s what I think of him. FIRSTOFF did you know he is the WORLDS leading consumer of Hennessey cognac? How can one man buy more than any other place? He’s a big lover of drinking, movies and the ladies. To me, he lives in a fantasy life, like a movie. He drinks until he’s unconscious and then does these ridiculous blackout moves. The last time, they fired a rocket and the world sorta LAUGHED and it was unexpected, remember what he did? NOTHING, not a word for DAYS. I think he got drunk, insisted on it, demanded the rocket be fired and then fell asleep a week!
I could be wrong, but if you view him through these glasses…….the guy’s a crackup !

LOL. It has been confirmed that there is no N Korean satellite in orbit. North Korea said its there…and “The satellite is transmitting the melodies of the immortal revolutionary paeans ‘Song of Gen. Kim Il Sung’ and ‘Song of Gen. Kim Jong Il’ as well as measurement data back to Earth,”

President Obama did the right thing by going to the UN Security Council to let the North Koreans know that this isn’t acceptable behavior. President Obama is also doing the right thing by stopping our country from being the World’s policeman and turning these foreign policy issues over to the world body that can adopt stricter sanctions and pass resolutions against this rogue nation. This is a completely different approach than with past administrations, and I hope that we will give it a chance to work. If another launch happens in the near future, then President Obama should directly talk with the North Koreans as a spokesman for the UN to see what it will take to make them suspend their dangerous activity.

I agree that it’s time for the U.S. to bow out of being the world’s policemen.

The guy is a non-issue, other than if he actually starts a shooting war with the South Koreans, which I doubt even He would do.
Still, a/p Ali up there he is a little un-stable
