BREAKING NEWS: Blagojevich ousted

Just minutes ago the Illinois Senate voted to  impeach the governor, Rod Blagojevich.  Blagojevich is the 8th state governor in U.S. history  to be impeached and ousted.  Earlier this week the Illinois house voted unanimously to impeach Blagojevich.
The state senate voted to bar Blajojevich from holding any office in the State of Illinois.

House Passes $819 Billion Economic Stimulus

All the Republican posturing couldn’t keep the stimulus bill from passing.    While I agree that moving in haste is often unwise, losing jobs at the rate of 500,000 per month is not sustainable…..something had to be done.  Let’s hope this is the right plan and it is successful in resuscitating the economy.

President Obama has told Congressional Democrats to drop a proposal to spend money on family planning from the proposed $825 billion plan to stimulate the economy,. a White House aides tells McClatchy. What a foolish thing to do.

House Dems may drop contraceptive spending

I don’t think this makes any sense at all.  In a time of economic crisis we don’t need a lot of unwanted pregnancies especially in families who can’t afford them.   It would be penny and wise dollar foolish in my opinion.
