Joe Biden warns Barack Obama supporters of war and depression – "Gird your loins"
Is there some kind of Joe Biden translator available? Why is Biden speaking in code?
Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, were gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.
The question is who is going to generate the crisis? Are you planing on some kind of war here, Joe? It sounds like we would be better served to elect McCain and forgo the crisis.
“I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate, And he’s gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you – not financially to help him – we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right.”
What Biden seems to be saying is that Obama supporters need to support Obama no matter how things look. His comment is reminiscent of Obama’s comment to his supporters about getting in people’s faces. In other words, no matter what you think we are right and you need to tell everyone we are right.
“Gird your loins,” Biden told the crowd. “We’re gonna win with your help, God willing, we’re gonna win, but this is not gonna be an easy ride. This president, the next president, is gonna be left with the most significant task. It’s like cleaning the Augean stables, man. This is more than just, this is more than – think about it, literally, think about it – this is more than just a capital crisis, this is more than just markets. This is a systemic problem we have with this economy.”
Gird your loins? Does Biden now think he’s Jesus? Give me a break. And “cleaning the Augean stables”….did those Greek columns go to Biden’s head? Does he think Obama is Hercules for God’s sake?
“I’ve forgotten more about foreign policy than most of my colleagues know, so I’m not being falsely humble with you. I think I can be value added, but this guy has it,” the Senate Foreign Relations chairman said of Obama. “This guy has it. But he’s gonna need your help. Because I promise you, you all are gonna be sitting here a year from now going, ‘Oh my God, why are they there in the polls? Why is the polling so down? Why is this thing so tough?’ We’re gonna have to make some incredibly tough decisions in the first two years. So I’m asking you now, I’m asking you now, be prepared to stick with us. Remember the faith you had at this point because you’re going to have to reinforce us.”
Here we go with the faith stuff again. People shouldn’t have faith in other people, IMO. And just what is “IT” that Obama has? Seriously, has Biden been drinking?
“There are gonna be a lot of you who want to go, ‘Whoa, wait a minute, yo, whoa, whoa, I don’t know about that decision’,” Biden continued. “Because if you think the decision is sound when they’re made, which I believe you will when they’re made, they’re not likely to be as popular as they are sound. Because if they’re popular, they’re probably not sound.”
What IS Biden talking about? Biden seems to be insinuating that we are too stupid to know if a decision is sound and only support bad decisions because they are popular. Since when are only bad decisions popular? I swear this is some very convoluted reasoning on Joe’s part.
“You literally can see what these kids are up against, our kids in that region,” Biden said in recalling when his helicopter was forced down due to a snowstorm there. “The place is crawling with al Qaeda. And it’s real.”
“We do not have the military capacity, nor have we ever, quite frankly, in the last 20 years, to dictate outcomes,” he cautioned. “It’s so much more important than that. It’s so much more complicated than that. And Barack gets it.”
Yes, we know our military is up against tough conditions. Yes, we know that our military is stretched thin. It doesn’t take “brilliant” Obama to get it…we get it.
“I probably shouldn’t have said all this because it dawned on me that the press is here,” he joked.
Ya think, Joe?
“All kidding aside, these guys have left us in a God-awful place,” he then said of the Bush regime, promptly wrapping up his remarks. “We have the ability to straighten it out. It’s gonna take a little bit of time, so I ask you to stay with us. Stay with us.”
It would be nice to believe you have the ability to straighten it out, Joe, but quite frankly I haven’t seen anything from you or Obama that convinces me of that. And since you are guaranteeing an Obama win will bring a crisis you just gave us one more reason to NOT vote for Obama.
We have heard how dangerous it is to have Sarah Palin a heartbeat away from the presidency….well Biden is as or more dangerous. He doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut. Obama will spend half his time trying to clean up Biden’s gaffes, and Biden will spend half his time explaining What Obama Really Meant (WORM).

Do you really think that if you elect McCain we aren’t going to have a serious financial crisis come about? That’s pretty funny! We are all headed into something most of us are too idiotic to understand because we put our faith in A CERTAIN PARTY! When did we start looking up to these puppets going into office expecting them to change our lives? Are they IDOLS? I don’t see them stopping the derogatory music, games, tv shows that rot not only childrens minds but also the “children” in there mid-twenties and older generations! Yet we have some of the highest percentages of uneducated people in the WORLD! Every single person out there that thinks the PRESIDENT is the ONE who is going to change things for everyone and make the world such a better place you need to wake up. Who do you really think controls our MONITARY system? Have you even studied the rise and fall of MONITARY systems? Neither candidate is right!

First of all I’m not voting for McCain. Secondly I don’t put faith in parties or people….maybe you are too idiotic to understand that’s not a good idea but I’m certainly not.
And if you are going to SCREAM a word and act like you are an authority on the subject make sure it is spelled correctly, ok? It’s MONETARY.

Wow, really? See, I don’t recall ever saying YOU personally are going to vote for McCain or that YOU personally are an idiot. Let’s get this straight also, maybe you don’t put your faith in parties or people, but there are a lot of people who do. They think that the President is some savior and is going to get us all out of this mess that we can’t even understand. Wouldn’t you think it would be a little “fair and balanced” if you had put remarks made by John McCain on also? Compare the two candidates? You do have me on the misspelling there is no doubt about that. Since you have a plethora of wisdom at your disposal maybe you can tell us what the best thing to do is since this whole Joe Biden thing is another reason not to vote for Obama and you aren’t going to say that you would vote for McCain? Who should be voted for then? Independent?
October 21st, 2008 at 8:38 pm
Well, who were you speaking to when you said “do you really believe……”?
I’m voting for Ralph Nader. If McCain were the McCain of 2000 and hadn’t picked Palin I might (and that’s a big might) have considered voting for McCain…but he isn’t and he did and I won’t support a right wing agenda.
And why would I post something McCain said in a post about what Biden said?
October 21st, 2008 at 8:46 pm
Do you think Ralph will win if you vote for him? If not then what are you actually doing? Do you think that the guys up on the hill are going to compare the statistics and tell themselves, ” Hey there’s a growing number of people shifting towards an Independent party. Maybe we should start to invest in those ideals.”
October 21st, 2008 at 8:53 pm
Of course I don’t think Nader will win. I’m voting my conscience. I refuse to hold my nose and vote ever again.
And yes, if enough people voted 3rd party it would get some attention but alas that isn’t likely to ever happen because so many Americans are partisan…they identify with “their” party and can’t imagine voting otherwise. It’s really rather sad that we have allowed our country to be taken over by the hacks in the Republican and Democratic parties.

It’s something that’s been going on for years and won’t stop for just a little bit longer. No matter what party we vote for.
